Russian NCP «Biotechnology»
(Bio-NCP of Russia )
Russian National Contact Point on “Biotechnology, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries & Aquaculture and Food” in the 7-th Framework Programme of EC was established by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation, the Order #62 of 21 February 2007 (see Ref.http://www.edu.ru/db/mo/Data/d_07/m62.html ) for continuation of Food-NCP of Russian activity on TP “Food Quality & Safety” started in 2003 at the basis of A.N.Bach Institute of Biochemistry RAS. Main objective of Bio-NCP of Russia is promoting Russian science integration into European Research Area (ERA).
The main task of Bio-NCP of Russia is collection and dissemination of information about FP7 Programmes related to «FOOD-BIOTECHNOLOGY» Priorities to potential R&TD and SME specialists in Russia.
Recently, Bio-NCP of Russia was appointed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation to co-ordinate international cooperation in «Bio» sector in Russia.
The main activities of Bio-NCP of Russia include:

Provision of the information interface between Russian and European scientific communities, dissemination of information about EC research projects and programs

Comprehensive organizational, informational, consultative and other actions for Russian scientific and research organizations willing to participate in international projects associated with food quality, food safety, and related problems.
Tasks:

Providing information exchange between researches, representatives of SMEs and multipliers for promotion and development of R&TD co-operation in the Russian Federation and EC countries.

Dissemination of all current information about FP7 Programme on TP-«BIO» in Russia. Rendering information organizational assistance and consultancy to acting and potential participants of TP-«BIO» ÅÑ FP7 Programme in Russia.

Co-ordination and harmonization of national R&D policies and priorities of the Russian Federation in the area of «BIO»-TP and life sciences with the strategy of science development in the European countries.

Provision of services to the EC-RF Working Group on «BIO»-TP and implementation of the WG decisions.

Support and coordination of activities of the Russian Technology Platforms, establishing direct work contacts with the relevant European Technology Platforms and their decision making bodies.

Organization and holding seminars, presentations, conferences, symposia, workshops, etc. for training participants and preparing proposals for EC Calls within FP7 Programme.

Formation of regional infrastructure on TP-«BIO» in the Russian Federation.

Organization of several meetings with international participation dedicated to the problems of organization and strengthening of scientific co-operation with the European Community (e.g. "EU-Russia Symposium on Scientific & Technological Co-operation in Biotechnology", "EU-Russia Partnering Event in Biotechnology", “Informational Support of Russian-European Research Cooperation within FP6 and INTAS Programs on Food Quality and Safety Direction”, the 5th International Symposium “EU-Russia: Prospects for Cooperation in Biotechnology in the 7th Framework Programme” was held in Pushchino, Oct 1-3, 2008, etc.).
